The number of immigrants coming to live in Harrow is continuing
to fall.
According to a report by Harrow's Chief environmental Health Officer Mr
Harold Ludlow, the number of immigrants coming to the borough has dropped
steadily over the past five years.
In 1980 the number was 393. In 1979 the figure was 434, the figures for
previous years were: 486(1978), 561(1977), 941(1976) and 1125(1975).
The largest number 206 came from India. The second largest number - 88
- was from Kenya. Other countries of origin included Tanzania 28, Pakistan
17, Bangladesh 11, Hong Kong 8, Sri Lanka 7, Zambia and Malawi 5.
