Harrow Council is to set up a small working party to decide what accommodation help they can give the Ugandan Asians.
Asians coming to this country from Uganda had been exaggerated and the board was working on a figure of 20,000 to 30,000 - perhaps 10,000 families at most.
This follows a letter from the Ugandan Resettlement Board asking local authorities to provide details of available accommodation.
The party will consist of the Mayor of Harrow, Ald. H.G. Gange, and the leaders of the council's Conservative and Liberal parties, Ald. H.T. Mote and Cllr. G.O. Abbott.
