A South Harrow based community organisation - the Lohana Union - is offering
help and temporary accommodation to Uganda Asians from the Lohana caste
arriving in Britain.
It asked its members to offer help with transport, accommodation and interpreting
for the Asians expelled from Uganda.
The union secretary, Mr Suresh Chanarana of 38 Cavendish Avenue, South
Harrow says there are about 250 Lohana families in Harrow and a much smaller
number in Wembley.
The are mostly businessmen, he said., belonging to the Lohana caste from
the Indian state of Gujerati.
