MP proposes 3 per cent increase limit
With the arrival in Britain of British Asians from Uganda now under way Harrow Council Policy and Resources Committee has given a pledge to meet its "proper and proportionate responsibilities."
It has promise to "consider any requests for assistance in light of the existing demands on the council's resources."
The committee met in private on Thursday to consider the position in the ligjt of the arrival of Uganda Asians in the country and the possibility of some coming to Harrow.
After meeting the following joint statement was issued by the chairman Cllr. Cyril Harrison (Labour), Ald. H.T. Mote (Conservative) and Cllr. G.O. Abbott (Liberal).
